amanda-sinclairFoundation Professor Management Diversity & Change Melbourne Business School

Amanda Sinclair is an academic, consultant and researcher with particular expertise in the areas of leadership and ethics, organisational culture and change, gender and diversity.

Amanda's work has been widely published, and her sometimes controversial conclusions have generated significant popular as well as academic debate. Her first books, Trials at the Top and Doing Leadership Differently, argued that gender, sexuality and power have shaped and limited leadership in business. Both were read with interest across professional, academic and corporate circles. In New Faces of Leadership (with Valerie Wilson), she argued that experiences of border-crossing were shaping more open and flexible forms of leadership though significant obstacles remain to practices of diversity leadership.

In addition to her work at MBS, Amanda consults to organisations and senior management teams in her areas of expertise. She is a regular contributor to The Australian Financial Review's Boss magazine and she also teaches yoga at MBS and outside. Before joining Melbourne Business School, Amanda worked in government and consulting, in areas of social policy and organisation development.
